R.I.P. Michael Jackson

I’m still in a bit of shock right now. When I first heard the news about the death of Michael Jackson, I was rather skeptical, since the only source was TMZ.com.

Now reports from ABC, FOX, and LA Times are confirming it, and CNN is working on confirming it. I’ve been watching the CNN Live Stream covering Jackson’s rush to the hospital for cardiac arrest for the past hour, and now are reporting that Michael Jackson is dead. CNN has also confirmed themselves.Read their story here.

I never imagined Michael would have died at the age of 50. I know he’s been through a lot of legal shit, but he still leaves a legacy as the King of Pop. Not sure exactly how I should feel right now. Inside, I feel like we lost a very famous icon in the music industry. His music still is still popular, and no one can dance as MJ did.

I’ll probably update this post as I gather more thoughts. ADHD is getting the better hand of me tonight. In the meantime, mtmcl from osu! is leading a Memorial Beatmapping project in honor of Michael Jackson. I’ve claimed Billy Jean, so expect a video when I get it ranked.

  1. Man, I think there’s rumors about his house doctor intentionally overdosing him or something. It’s really awful and unexpected. I was kinda looking forward for the Jackson 5 reunion concerts…

  2. I feel really disconnected from all of it. I’ve never really liked MJ, his music or the person. I feel like the wrong generation, I just don’t know him as the musician, only for the legal problems he had. I watched a documentary on him recently, which revealed to me how due to drugs, his horrible past, or w/e reason you want to come up with, Michael Jackson was rather…strange in the head, but he was definitely a fascinating man who leaves behind a lot for people to remember.

So many people are dying these days, I can’t even believe it…what is happening to our celebrities! >.<
